The Board of Kimberley College meets monthly and is focussed on ensuring good governance by providing support and direction for the Principal, monitoring financial management, compliance with the legislation and regulations governing independent schools and approving the strategic direction of Kimberley College.

The board is comprised of four committees:

  1. Finance Committee
  2. Education Committee
  3. Property Committee
  4. Risk Management

Each committee has a charter and comprises Board members and relevant staff from the College. The Board chair is on all four committees. 

Daniel Pampuch

Dr Daniel Pampuch is the CEO of Christian Schools Australia (CSA), the peak body supporting more than 210 schools nationwide with professional services and sector leadership. He also lectures with the Governance Institute of Australia, equipping boards and leadership teams in governance and strategy. Daniel brings extensive board experience, currently serving as Chair of Wesley Mission Queensland, a member of the UCA Synod Standing Committee, and on the Kimberley College Board. Daniel holds a PhD in leadership, master’s degrees in Education, Business, and Theology, and undergraduate degrees in Arts and Education. He is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, the Institute of Managers and Leaders, and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. In addition, he is a member of the Australian College of Educational Leaders and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sonya Beyers

Sonya Beyers works with boards and leadership teams to strengthen governance frameworks, clarify roles and responsibilities, and enhance organisational performance. Drawing on her background in corporate law and governance advisory, she brings a strategic, solutions-focused approach to her director portfolio that includes Chair of Southern Cross Care Tas (Inc), Presiding Member of the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia and Non-Executive Director of Community Housing Limited.

Ken Petty

Managing partner with a large legal firm on the Gold Coast and a member of the board of St Stephens College. Mr Petty was formerly a board member with Australian Industry Trade College.

Elaine Rae

Consultant to independent schools and a member of the Education and Building Committee of the Independent Schools Block Grant Authority.

Warwick Steen

Developer and owner of polo training facility and parent of KC students.
Board member since 2015.

Don Thams

Recently retired. Mr Thams was formerly the Business Manager and Secretary to Board of Trustees of Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School; board member of Australian Industry Trade College; Business Manager at St Hilda’s School.

Rodger Brooks

Rodger served as the Business Manager at Genesis Christian College for 25 years and helped grow the school from approximately 220 students when he arrived to approx. 1,600 students. Rodger brings extensive knowledge and experience in financial management and governance. Rodger was on the QISBGA committee for 12 years and visited and recommended capital grants to approx. 100 schools over that period. Rodger has served on the Hillcrest finance committee for over four years and on the Board, Finance Committee and Property committee at Hills International College for 1.5 years. His commitment to the community extends internationally and locally through his board role on the New Life Trust supporting New Life Orphanage in Myanmar for the last seven years. Rodger also served on a local counselling service called YAFA (Youth and Families Association Kallangur) as their treasurer for approximately five years.
